**BAHRA BOARD ANNOUNCEMENT**

At the July 2011 meeting, the BAHRA board voted to eliminate the acceptance of checks and cash for payment of events and membership purchases.  Effective September 1st, please make all future payments via company or personal credit card.

Punch Cards are now available for purchase online. Punch cards cost $150.00 and are good for 10 punches to BAHRA events. Once your purchase and membership have been confirmed, your punch card will be mailed to the address on your member profile. After registering for an event, bring the punch card with you and present to the Registration Chair at the door. *Please note, that punch cards are a benefit of membership and are available to members only.   SPOTLIGHT ON BAHRA EVENTS      

Friday, January 27th - Join BAHRA's ASTD-SIG for: "Leading Through Change," presented Leslie Jones of Leslie Jones Coaching. During this workshop we'll take a look at successful transformation as your organization undergoes change. This program may be approved for 1.0 re-certification credits by HRCI.  Thursday, February 2nd - BAHRA's HR Career Development Special Interest Group (HRCD-SIG) presents, "Network Your Way to Success!," by Shawna Williams of Innovative Career Consulting. Networking is a must for any business professional today. In this interactive session, Shawna will give a simple 5 Step Formula to build your world class network. BAHRA CHAPTER NEWS AND INFORMATION 

• Membership currently numbers almost 300. BAHRA offers an opportunity to meet your peers to exchange ideas and discuss problems through monthly meetings, special events, Special Interest Group events, website information, a YahooGroup e-mail forum and monthly newsletters. Members can post job openings or search for openings, consult services or products on the website, in the newsletter or by using the Yahoo Group. 

• HR/SPHR certification study groups are forming for the next testing window!  Please contact Jennifer Sebastian if you are interested in attending a session to learn about the study group and the support and materials BAHRA can offer:  jensebastian@comcast.net.  Also, if you are interested in serving on the Certification Committee, please email Jennifer at the address above!  

• Volunteers Needed! There are several volunteer opportunities available with BAHRA. The Chairs of areas such as Membership, Programs, Certification, Public Relations, Resource Development, Website and College Relations are all seeking sub-committee members.
