Session 1: Retool Your Recruiting Process
span>It’s no s
ecret that finding the right employees in this competitive market can be fr
ustrating. While many people claim that low unemployment is to blame, that’
s only part of the picture. The fact is you want the best candidates, not j
ust the unemployed. In a market that favors the job seeker, old screening t
actics and drawn-out recruitment processes frequently frustrate candidates,
giving a negative impression of your company – or worse, the abandonment o
f their applications. This presentation teaches you to reassess and strengt
hen your hiring strategies from job description development through final i
nterviews. Using such proven marketing and customer service strategies such
as narrowcasting and client engagement, former recruiter and career coach
Donna Shannon will teach you how to retool your recruitment process and kee
p the very best in your talent pool.
Learning objectives:
1. How to work collaboratively with hiri
ng managers to identify target candidates through narrowcasting while also
widening the net to tap overlooked talent.
2. How to identify the recruitmen
t procedures that are turning of your best cadidates and apply client engag
ement tactives to keep them.
3. L
earn tactical plans to retool the recruitment process itself to move beyond
just screening candidates and implement processess that make the job seeke
rs feel valued

Session 3: They Fit or They Quit
Jack Welch is quoted as saying “getting
the right people in the right jobs is a lot more important than developing
strategy”. The obvious questions here are: What does “right fit” mean? And
how does right fit, repeated over time, bring life to the culture and empo
wer the company’s mission? Traditionally, we hire people based on a handful
of conversations, references, and a list of hard skills. This approach pre
dicts job success with only 36% accuracy - for many organizations, this lea
ds to expensive turnover costs and a confused, unfulfilled workforce that d
erails strategy. For example, many jobs now involve a strategic approach th
at requires critical thinking and professional knowledge that reaches into
cross department functions. So how can we figure out what is a “right fit”
for our candidates when they might not even know what the right fit looks l
ike? This session will explore the predictable science behind hiring the ri
ght people for the job itself, and how to give your new employees an effect
ive on-boarding that will make them excited to come to work.

Conducting over 80 seminars and speakin
g engagements a year, Ed has trained and coached over 3,000 leaders and has
the attention of the market on the subjects of training and creating susta
inable behavior change in very critical situations. His story begins as an
NCAA gymnastic coach where he was charged and fascinated by the process of
how people move through fear where he learned that people are rarely effect
ive at managing fear. The critical and often missing component to move peop
le through fear is to understand moving through fear doesn’t take a skill,
it takes a reason. Once the reason grows bigger than the fear, the decision
can be made to move forward. Ed has translated this experience in coaching
elite athletes to coaching leaders and managers into building high perform
ing teams, getting results, and managing change. His relatable analogies an
